Kim Varyzi

Kimyia Varzi

Varzi was born in Iran and raised in the United States. She is a freelance photographer and writer living in Washington, DC. She has worked on conflict resolution, human rights and development in Africa. Kim has an MA in International Development from American University in Washington, DC and a BA in communication and mathematics from St. Mary’s College, Indiana. She served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer teaching mathematics in Burkina Faso. These experiences coupled with every day life have shaped her writing and photography. Kim is passionate about photography, African music, art and people
